The High Pressure Die Casting (HPDC) Boot Camp is a one-day, hands-on learning experience designed for professionals who want a deeper understanding of the die casting process. Throughout the day, participants explore key topics including melt chemistry, degassing and fluxing, melt quality evaluation, computer-aided simulation and process optimization.
Using die-cast sample parts and real-world examples, attendees will investigate common casting defects, review techniques for evaluating microstructures and mechanical properties, and learn how process variables influence quality and performance. Packed with interactive activities and practical demonstrations, this boot camp provides valuable technical knowledge and skills that can be applied immediately in the workplace.
Led by the Institute for Advanced Composites Manufacturing Innovation (IACMI) and supported by the Department of Defense, the HPDC Boot Camp aims to give individuals a deep dive into the process of high-pressure die casting manufacturing.
